Gorgeous lightweight margilan silk and wool naturally died with onion skins to bring a rich yellow tone to this piece. Absolutely stunning.

Mara 's process from raw material to final product is a tedious and labor intensve work of love. The felting is accomplished by applying water, heat, and friction to the wool fibers and the wool itself has to be pure, not synthetic, in order for the process to work. The fibers of the wool are entangled with the silk, bringing the two into one luxurious piece. Typically, each scarf or shawl takes days before it begins to take shape and Mara completes her vision for the project. We think it is worth all the long hours and know you will too!
